Menopause and Hormone Support
Hot flashes, broken sleep, weight that will not shift and brain fog are usually treated as separate problems. Testing often shows they share one cause. At Elements of Health we start by measuring what your hormones, thyroid and adrenals are actually doing.

Symptoms that often trace back to hormones
Hot flashes and night sweats
Sleep that will not hold through the night
Weight gain that does not respond to diet or exercise
Brain fog and trouble concentrating
Fatigue that rest does not fix
Mood changes, irritability and feeling anxious
Achy joints
Irregular cycles, heavy bleeding or cycles that stop and start
Perimenopause and menopause bring several of these at once, which is why they are so often dismissed as stress or ageing. Chronic stress, thyroid function and adrenal health are all part of the same picture.
How we find what your hormones are actually doing
Dr. Jones uses testing that is not part of routine general medicine. Which tests apply depends on your symptoms and your goals. As she puts it, "I won't guess about your health."
Saliva testing
Saliva testing measures hormone levels for both women and men, along with adrenal function. Because adrenal health and sex hormones influence each other, seeing them together explains far more than either one alone.
Comprehensive blood panel
A full blood chemistry panel establishes a baseline of biomarkers and reveals thyroid activity, blood sugar, immune function and vitamin and mineral levels. Thyroid dysfunction produces many of the same symptoms as menopause and is frequently missed.
Electro Dermal Screening
Also called Biomeridian testing, this is a noninvasive method that assesses the energy meridians of the body and gives insight into organs and glands including the adrenals and the immune system. Once imbalances are identified, we test which nutritional supports work best for your body and build a personalized protocol.
These are part of the full range of diagnostic testing Dr. Jones uses. Where digestive symptoms sit alongside hormone changes, gut health testing often runs alongside this work.
Why "normal" results may not mean healthy
Most lab reports compare your results against a "normal range." If you fall inside it, you are usually told you are normal, which is easily confused with being healthy.
Normal ranges are calculated by each individual laboratory, not a central agency, using roughly 100 to 200 people who had testing done recently. Most of those people were being tested precisely because they already had a health problem. Their results are averaged, and the range extends two standard deviations either side.
So a normal result means only that you are not yet as unwell as the people used to build the range. It is why so many women with real symptoms are told their hormones are fine.
What happens after your results come in
When all results are in, Dr. Jones prepares a personalized report. It includes a hard copy of every result, an explanation of what each one means, and a complete plan of the nutrients, vitamins, dietary changes and lifestyle adjustments needed to move forward.
The report is built through the Science Based Nutrition program and includes:
Supplement recommendations and dosages specific to your findings, age, sex and weight
Correlation of medication side effects with your test findings
Dietary recommendations, including meal recipes
Color coded comparison of current and previous results on the same page
From there you have ongoing support. A health coach works alongside you, and Healthie gives you 24/7 access and unlimited messaging with your doctor between appointments.

What can hormone testing show?
Saliva testing measures hormone levels for women and men along with adrenal function. A comprehensive blood panel adds thyroid activity, blood sugar, immune markers and vitamin and mineral levels. Together they show whether symptoms are driven by sex hormones, the thyroid, the adrenals, or a combination.
Can natural approaches really help with menopause symptoms?
Many patients see meaningful change through targeted supplementation and dietary adjustments once testing shows what is actually out of balance. The plan is built from your results rather than a general protocol.
My thyroid results came back normal but I still have symptoms. Why?
Normal ranges are calculated by each laboratory from roughly 100 to 200 people who were being tested because they already had a health concern. A normal result means you are not yet as unwell as that group. It does not mean your levels are optimal for you.
Do I need to travel to Columbus?
No. Consultations are virtual or by phone, and testing is arranged so you can complete it without traveling. Elements of Health serves patients across the United States.
What symptoms are commonly connected to hormone imbalance?
Hot flashes, night sweats, disrupted sleep, weight gain, brain fog, fatigue, achy joints, irritability and irregular cycles. Chronic stress often sits underneath several of them at once.
