Naturopathic and Holistic Care in Columbus, Ohio
Columbus has no shortage of places to be told your results are normal. What is harder to find is someone who looks past the range and asks why you still do not feel well.

Why patients in Columbus come to us
Most people who reach out have been unwell for a while and have already been told their results are normal. They are looking for someone who will look further:
Hormonal changes, menopause symptoms and thyroid concerns
Digestive problems, bloating and food reactions
Fatigue that rest does not fix
Brain fog and trouble concentrating
Weight that will not respond to diet or exercise
Sleep that breaks through the night
Recurring infections and low immune resilience
Long standing symptoms with no clear explanation
As Dr. Jones puts it, "I won't guess about your health." Every plan starts with testing rather than assumption.
A Columbus practice with a nationwide reach
Elements of Health is based in Columbus, Ohio, on North High Street. Consultations are held online or by phone, which means appointments fit around work and family rather than a commute across town.
Lab work is arranged so you never have to travel far. Saliva, hair and stool samples are collected at home. Blood and urine work is completed at a draw centre near you. Results come back to Dr. Jones, who reviews them with you on your next call. You can read more about how virtual care works.
Dr. Kathleen Jones and her Ohio credentials

Her connection to Ohio medicine runs deeper than an address. She has taught at the Ohio State University School of Medicine and School of Nursing, and currently serves as president of the Ohio State Naturopathic Association. Very few naturopathic practitioners in the state hold that combination of teaching and leadership.

How we find the root cause
Dr. Jones uses testing that is not part of routine general medicine. Which tests apply depends entirely on your symptoms and goals.
Saliva. Hormones for women and men, adrenal function and gastrointestinal function.
Comprehensive blood panel. Thyroid, blood sugar, immune function, vitamin and mineral levels.
Stool. Parasites, yeast, bacteria, fungi, enzyme counts, inflammation and food allergies.
Hair. Heavy metal toxins and mineral imbalances.
Electro Dermal Screening. A noninvasive scan of the body's energy meridians, giving insight into the adrenals, immune system and digestive system.
See the full range of diagnostic testing for more detail on each.
Why "normal" results may not mean healthy
Most lab reports compare your results against a "normal range." If you fall inside it you are usually told you are normal, which is easily confused with being healthy.
Normal ranges are calculated by each individual laboratory, not a central agency, using roughly 100 to 200 people who had testing done recently. Most of those people were being tested precisely because they already had a health problem. Their results are averaged, and the range extends two standard deviations either side.
So a normal result means only that you are not yet as unwell as the people used to build the range. It is the single most common reason patients arrive here after being told nothing is wrong.
Areas of focus
Gut health and digestive support. Stool and saliva testing to find what is driving bloating, irregular digestion and food reactions.
Menopause and hormone support. Saliva testing for hormones and adrenal function, blood work for thyroid.
Functional medicine. Root cause evaluation when symptoms cross several systems at once.
The Science Based Nutrition program. A nutrition plan built from objective blood analysis rather than guesswork.
What patients say
I began working with Dr. Jones because the impact of chronic stress and menopause had left me struggling with fatigue, feelings of anxiousness, sleeplessness, achy joints, hot flashes, weight gain and brain fog. Dr. Jones validated and affirmed what I was experiencing and created a plan that has helped balance out my systems. With supplements and diet changes, I feel great and cannot believe the transformation. Christine C.
I have been a client of Dr. Jones for almost 12 years now. They listen to you at all times and treat you as a whole person, not just a number or an issue you are dealing with. Eileen W.

Do you see patients in person in Columbus?
Consultations are held online or by phone. The practice is based in Columbus and works with patients throughout the area, but appointments do not require travel. Lab work is arranged at home or at a draw centre near you.
What is the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a holistic doctor?
The terms overlap in everyday use. Dr. Jones is a Naturopathic and Chiropractic Physician, which means her training covers natural therapies, clinical nutrition, behavioural medicine and advanced diagnostic testing, and her plans are built from lab results rather than symptoms alone.
How soon can I be seen?
Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00. Because visits are virtual, scheduling tends to be quicker than a practice that only offers in person slots.
What testing will I need?
It depends on your symptoms. Options include saliva testing for hormones and adrenal function, a comprehensive blood panel, stool testing, hair analysis for heavy metals, and Electro Dermal Screening. Dr. Jones decides what applies after reviewing your health history.
My results came back normal but I still feel unwell. Why?
Normal ranges are calculated by each laboratory from roughly 100 to 200 people who were being tested because they already had a health concern. A normal result means you are not yet as unwell as that group. It does not mean your levels are optimal for you.
