Holistic and Naturopathic Care for Fort Lauderdale, Florida

South Florida is full of people who changed address and lost their doctor along the way. Care that travels with you solves that, and it starts by testing instead of guessing.

Virtual naturopathic and holistic care for Fort Lauderdale. Lab testing arranged locally, with a personalized plan from Dr. Kathleen Jones, DC and ND.

Why Fort Lauderdale patients work with us

Most people who reach out have been unwell for a while and have already been told their results are normal. What they want is someone who will look further:

  • Hormonal changes, menopause symptoms and thyroid concerns

  • Digestive problems, bloating and food reactions

  • Fatigue that rest does not fix

  • Brain fog and trouble concentrating

  • Weight that will not respond to diet or exercise

  • Sleep that breaks through the night

  • Recurring illness and low immune resilience

  • Long standing symptoms with no clear explanation

Every plan starts with testing rather than assumption. As Dr. Jones puts it, "I won't guess about your health."

Care that follows you between Florida and home

South Florida is full of people who split the year between two places, or who moved down recently and left a trusted doctor behind. That break in continuity is one of the most common reasons health concerns drift for years without anyone joining the dots.

Because every consultation is held online or by phone, your care does not restart each time your address does. The same doctor, the same records and the same plan, whether you are in Fort Lauderdale in January or somewhere else in July.

Elements of Health is based in Columbus, Ohio, and works with patients across the United States. More about how virtual care works.

How lab testing works when you are in Florida

This is the question that stops most people, and it deserves a straight answer. Nothing about the depth of testing changes because your appointment is online.

Functional lab testing is completed at home or through local labs in your area. Results come back to Dr. Jones, who reviews them with you on your next call.

  • Saliva. Hormones for women and men, adrenal function and gastrointestinal function.

  • Comprehensive blood panel. Thyroid, blood sugar, immune function, vitamin and mineral levels.

  • Stool. Parasites, yeast, bacteria, fungi, enzyme counts, inflammation and food allergies.

  • Hair. Heavy metal toxins and mineral imbalances.

  • Electro Dermal Screening. A noninvasive scan giving insight into the adrenals, immune system and digestive system.

See the full range of diagnostic testing for detail on each.

Why "normal" results may not mean healthy

Most lab reports compare your results against a "normal range." If you fall inside it you are usually told you are normal, which is easily confused with being healthy.

Normal ranges are calculated by each individual laboratory, not a central agency, using roughly 100 to 200 people who had testing done recently. Most of those people were being tested precisely because they already had a health problem. Their results are averaged, and the range extends two standard deviations either side.

So a normal result means only that you are not yet as unwell as the people used to build the range. It is the single most common reason patients arrive here after being told nothing is wrong.

What patients say

I began working with Dr. Jones because the impact of chronic stress and menopause had left me struggling with fatigue, feelings of anxiousness, sleeplessness, achy joints, hot flashes, weight gain and brain fog. With supplements and diet changes, I feel great and cannot believe the transformation. Christine C.
I searched for a doctor who could help me as I was very tired and continually ill. I am pleased to say that I am so much better, with more life in me. I am no longer accepting mediocre for my health. Nancy C.

How does lab testing work if I am in Florida?

Functional lab testing is completed at home or through local labs. Results go to Dr. Jones, who reviews them with you on your next call.

I split my year between Florida and another state. Does that complicate things?

It is one of the reasons virtual care suits South Florida so well. Your doctor, records and plan stay the same regardless of where you are living that month.

What is the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a holistic doctor?

The terms overlap in everyday use. Dr. Jones is a Naturopathic and Chiropractic Physician, which means her training covers natural therapies, clinical nutrition, behavioural medicine and advanced diagnostic testing, and her plans are built from lab results rather than symptoms alone.

My results came back normal but I still feel unwell. Why?

Normal ranges are calculated by each laboratory from roughly 100 to 200 people who were being tested because they already had a health concern. A normal result means you are not yet as unwell as that group. It does not mean your levels are optimal for you.

How soon can I be seen?

All visits are by appointment. Because visits are virtual, scheduling tends to be quicker than a practice offering only in person slots.

How do I get support between appointments?

Through Healthie, which gives you 24/7 access and unlimited messaging with your doctor. A health coach also works alongside you.
